Why is it that whenever I have an interesting thought I do not have a computer? I guess that's life, I really don't have anything intelligent to write, and I'll probably type up my other thoughts. So instead I'll make this much more of a journal entry, just to write about my life.

Taryn's been sick for the past week or so, Wendy thinks she has mono...if she does she got it from me since I had similar symptoms a few weeks back, but I mostly ignored them because I was more concerned with my chest. (CT scan is a week from today, FYI.) I also haven't gotten it since Monday, it woudl have shown up by now wouldn't it? Phileas Fogg is a man who never loses or gains a step; everyday he walks to his only social connection, the reform club, at half past eleven. After putting his right foot in front of his left foot five hundred and seventy-five times, and his left foot before his right five hundred and seventy-six time he arrived and went about his routine day. This day however is different today the bank of England was robbed and Fogg is caught up in an argument about how quickly the robber could escape, this leads to a reference to the Daily Telegraph where it estimates the amount of time it would take for a man to circumnavigate the globe, exactly eighty days. Fogg decides to prove that a man can circumnavigate the globe in eighty days.
Jean Passepartout applied to Mr. Fogg for a more stable master, mentally and in personality, he was surprised when Fogg changed from his normal routine as odd as the idea was Passepartout agreed to go with Fogg –not that he had much of a choice- and follow him around the world. Passepartout is however truly won over by Fogg when he gave twenty guineas in alms to a woman begging on the street, proving to Passepartout that this man was indeed an honest and heartfelt man.
After the travelers had set off on their journey a warrant of arrest was sent out from Lord Calvin, stating that Phileas Fogg robbed the Bank of England, and Fix a detective set out to capture Fogg.
Things go off smoothly for Fogg until India. In Bombay Passepartout is lucky enough to only losing his shoes when he illegally enters a temple with his shoes on and his ambushed by priest, thus losing not only his shoes but the extra shoes and shirts he had recently bought. Just barley making the train to Calcutta, Passepartout rest after his master does not get angry with him. Even though the train was supposed to travel to Calcutta, India it’s track was not finished as announced in the papers in England and Fogg had to find another way of convenience to Allahabad about fifty more miles. This is a problem for Fogg and he searches for another way to travel Allahabad with his whist partner and servant. He decides to buy and elephant and hire a local man, Parsee, to drive the elephant to Allahabad. On the way however they nearly run into “savages” and learn of a princess who is about to be serviced against her will. The princess’ name is Aouda and she was to be burned along with her husband who bought her from the girl’s father. Fogg is determined to save her and the rest of his companions agree to help him save Aouda from her captors. They wait all night for an opportunity to save her but to no avail. As the morning of her funeral approaches Passepartout hatches an idea on how to save her and separates from the party. The morning light now on the body of the rajah, the princess’ husband’s body and the torch lit, the crowd yelled in terror as the rajah got up grabbed his wife and jumped down from the stone on which he was to be burned, and ran to Fogg and the rest of the party. To the party’s surprise it was Passepartout he had taken the place of the rajah’s body and has saved Aouda from the fiery death. After arriving to Allahabad Fogg gave the elephant, which had cost him a small fortune, to Parsee for his devotion to helping him save Aouda. However Fix had made it to Allahabad before Fogg and was ready to arrest Passepartout and Fogg for his servants trespassing in the Indian temple, with the hope to keep Fogg in Allahabad long enough to receive the arrest warrant of which he was waiting for. To Fix’s disappointment though the priest who had witnessed the crime at the temple had also been the ones whom were going to practice the illegal ritual on Aouda, however Passepartout is still to be held for his crime so Fogg simply pays bail and they sets out for the steamer which was to take them to China.
From Singapore to Hong Kong, Fix and Passepartout met often and Passepartout finally figured that Fix must be a spy sent by the men at the Reform to slow Fogg down. In Hong Kong, Fogg is notified that the steamer, Carnatic, which was to take him to Japan, was going to leave later then scheduled and that Aouda’s cousin to which she was to be left to had left for Holland a couple years ago. Hong Kong is also where Passepartout confronts Fix with his discovery. Fix takes Passepartout into an opium den after both he and Passepartout learn of the Carnatic’s earlier departure time. There Fix explains how he is a detective sent to arrest Fogg, and how Fogg had robbed a bank, at this Passepartout is outraged but is pushed back into his seat by Fix, who by talking to him while handing him alcoholic drinks, drinks Passepartout under the table. This leads to Fogg missing the Carnatic and hiring another boat to take him to Japan, and Passepartout barley making it to the Carnatic. After reaching Yokohama Passepartout having lost his master and having no money, decided he must find a job and joins a traveling circus, which was traveling to San Francisco in a short time. Hoping to rejoin his master in San Francisco he joins the circus as a clown while in which being one he sees Mr. Fogg and is reunited with his master.
Upon reaching San Francisco Fogg and party now including Fix find themselves in a political assembly in which a riot breaks out and Fogg is insulted and Fix attacked. Departing from San Francisco on the Union Pacific Railroad, Fogg vows to return someday to the United States and even the score with the man with which attack him, Fix, and Aouda. After traveling sometime the train is ambushed just as Fogg was about to settle the score with the man who had attacked them in San Francisco, who was in fact a Colonel. The train was ambushed by a band of Sioux and a battle had broken out between the gun armed Sioux and the revolver armed passengers including the Colonel and Fogg. The train had to be stopped before passing the Fort or all would be lost and Passepartout takes it upon himself to disconnect the locomotive from the rest of the train. Passepartout is then captured by the Sioux and later rescued by Fogg who misses the train to Omaha and then has to take a sledge to catch the train to New York. Unfortunately the steamer in New York is missed by forty-five minutes, and Fogg is forced to employ another ship to take him to England, however the captain refuses to take him to Liverpool and Fogg is forced to talk the crew to mutiny. The coal is depleted as they near England and they are forced to burn the wood on the boat to make it to just make it to Queenstown, Ireland where Fogg takes various convinces to make it to English soil, which upon reaching is arrested by Fix for the robbery of the Bank of England.
Fogg is kept in the Custom House until one pm and had to reach the Reform club in eight hours and forty-five minutes to win his twenty thousand pound wager. Fix at this time ran in and breathlessly apologized to the arrest for another man had been arrested three days earlier, and at this Fogg made one of the few swift motions in his life and hit Fix to the ground of which Fix held no contempt for. Fogg rushed to London but reached it at nine fifty pm on the eightieth day. The next day Fogg had not bothered to go to the Reform Club however he had asked Aouda to marry him and upon this sent Passepartout to send for the Chaplin to arrange the marriage. By doing so Passepartout had learned that they had gained a day by crossing the International Date Line and it was now the eightieth day. Upon hearing this Fogg rushed to the Reform club and burst through the crowd and into the room of the Reform of which his associates were waiting just as the clocks struck a quarter to nine. Even though he had won the wager he gained very little in monetary value, he instead gained a wife. At the end the reader learns how gaining happiness is worth a trip around the world.

Check It Out

Get info about the books I've read, (and remember) or submit a summary or charector sheet through my email, californiascholar@gmail.com

Choices

Heros are made everyday, simply by making the right choices. There's something always pushing someone to do the right thing; guilt, religon, pop culture, ect... Even with the world in econonmic and social turmoil, and with the media and pop culture poisening our generations, there are still things that fight back. Someones mother could have left that lasting impression on her child, twenty years later he's faced with a life changing choice and thanks to his mother he made the right chose. Religon has been pushing people to do the right things since the begining of time, whether they worshiped animals or a magical man living in the clouds it has steered people for millinums. Most of pop culture has poisend our generations, going from bringing the lastest breakthroughs in science to bringing the latest about Brittney's body. However there are still people who use pop culture to spread good teachings; Star Wars-maybe far fetched but it still sends a good message-Disney, PAX, others try to spread the great message. So make the right choices and become a hero.

Sign This Petition Please

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/154065406 this will take you to a petition to tell wal-mart that they should compensate their employs.

Boycott Marthat Stewart

Why should someone you commited a felony be rewarded with more money. There are constant lawsuits about the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. Today you can't be Muslim without suspicion of terrorism, you can't be Christian without being considered controlling stereotype, and you can't be a Jew without either being considered rich and self centered or a target for paintball or other gun practice. Many people in the USA today are trying to completely remove religion, primarily Christianity, from the government. How can a country that was founded on the basis of Christianity fountain with out it's influence? So stand up and preach your beliefs and proclaim self righteousness, we must remember the things that have kept this species going for millions of years.

Clothing Today

Why has fashion today gone down the drain it's all sleazy outfits that show more of peoples' body then some want to see, especially with the wide spread obesity. Think back to the twenties when it was white or black suits or mysterious trench coats. What about the forties, nice skirts on the girl basic t-shirt and pants for the guys. (The following is not a full theory.) This is a sign that society has reached it's climax, the end of Pisces or Jesus Zodiac sign, the end of the second millennium what ever you want to call it. In early times nobody cared to cover their body except to keep warm, then it was custom to cover all of your body, now it's covering less and less of your body. So why is it that society is more concerned with their fancy cars, clothes, and money yet not the end of fossil fuels or global warming. NYC I know has not forgotten, and niether should we or the ones after us. I talked to some of my little brother's friends who are all five years old and none of them had heard of 9/11. This is a sad thing because it is like people don't want to pass on what happened to those in New York four years ago, what people died for wheather it was simply a terrorist attack or had they been voulenteers and firefighters that lost their lives saving others. We should remeber our past so it will not happen in the future.

California in Paranoia

With the FEMA perditions, as of August 2001, of the top most likely disasters being:
1. A terrorist attack in New York, New York
2. A major hurricane in New Orleans
3. A major earthquake in California
recently reported on Reuters.com, now Californians everywhere are making calls to get their waterheaters bolted down, and emergency kits. Because Bush plans on staying in Iraq for three to four more years means that we have less soilders to help these people who are in disastors. Not only did it take days to help the people in New Orleans, but people around New Orleans had it even worse. One city didn't even get help until Wensday and this was from voulenteer Canadians, FEMA officers didn't even show up until Sunday. So what does Bush do about this disaster, give away a bunch of money to victoms who were either to poor to get out or to stupid to get out so now they have driven the budget even more into the ground by having the government pay to have themselves pulled out of it after. Bush in the mist of all this have hired multiple private contractors because our forces cannot handle the load of evacuating the disaster area. So the after spending all this money on people that we don't really need, bush declares tax cuts. What is wrong with Bush?

Lulu Publishing Company

There's plenty to buy a www.Lulu.com a free publishing website feel free to try it out. Now if you have a bussiness I ask you to please use that banner to open a paypal account. Now many people say they hate advertising and all it does is get in the way. Well if it wasn't for advertising you wouldn't be able to access the service for free or you'd need to pay more than you already are to accept it. For example HBO cost a subscription fee in order to get because it's commercial free. So I think being added to a mailing list is a small price to pay for a couple of free services or a scholarship.

Swizterland

Arguably the greatest country on earth. I have recently flown to PA and I'm a Californian, meaning a non-stop flight is full of fuel and a prime target for terrorist attacks as seen on 9/11. Unfortunately I went on a Monday morning and at Oakland Airport the security line was 90 minutes long, and waved through doors and unofficial lines. I've also visited Washington, D.C. There security is at every turn and if you want to see any thing important you have to wave through bunches of people and searches. Philadelphia was just as bad with a 45 minute line to see the liberty bell and get a tour of Independence Hall. My point being that security is being out of control in some places and in others stretched to thin. Such as the monuments in D.C. or he mass transit system such as long range trains. Should security be reformed or is it fine just the way it is.

Response

I know that the hopes of the country aren't looking to good and that a female president would make a great addition to our government.
